Accessibility for all levels in the auditorium will be ensured. The foyers and break corridors will be spatially and visually extended and the relationship between the interior and exterior space improved.
The ground floor foyer will be extended to the adjacent square via openable facade elements – as a summer foyer with mobile bar elements. In the 1st and 2nd tier foyers, facades are replaced by room-high glass facades and break buffets and benches are arranged. The central wardrobe in the basement is modernised and extended. A switchable cloakroom for special events will be installed on the 2nd level. WC facilities will be optimised and extended in the basement. A new chair design and seating variants are proposed for the auditorium. When fully seated, there will be 1,180 seats with the possibility of adding 42 seats and 40 standing places.
The renovation concept includes the improvement of the acoustics, the anchoring of facade panels and new surfaces, the protection of the building against rainwater and drainage measures in the basement floors.
